Now let’s talk about our IBZ SUMMER in particular: it is an American Pale Ale in which, as we have seen, the aromas and flavours of hops take centre stage over those of cereal. True to style, it has medium-low carbonation. It has a slightly coppery colour and a fruity and tropical profile. The combination of Simcoe and Citra hops results in an intense fruitiness that reminds of mango or passion fruit, with a citrusy touch that quenches thirst and a point of bitterness to prevent it from being overly sweet. A light dry hopping enhances the aroma but does not mask the malt flavours.
